#Foraging Bookmark: The Ultimate Army Field Guide to Wild Edible Plants | The Art of Manliness If you’re interested in foraging, your best source of information is going to be a local forager who knows what’s available in your area at different times of year. You next best would be a book by a local forager. Srikanth Perinkulam

I absolutely love the WP-GPX plugin! It takes an additional step to fetch the individual gpx file manually and upload it to your server to use the short code. However, the pain is absolutely worth it. And I’m sure there’s a way to automate this process. I also remember having an issue with it not displaying the HR graph for my uploads. Yet another thing that I need to work on! ...

Thundering miles

Got the kids out for a short 4mile orienteering session. Fit in the short 1/2 mile trail in Dr. Blakely Hoar Sanctuary that’s right in the backyard. Humid in the higher 80s. Good recipe for some heavy showers that followed later in the evening. Hit the reservoir dirt road for a good three 1.6mile loops. Nothing like running while it’s pouring cats and dogs and you’re out there in the woods. Effectively ~9miles spent outdoors. Great way to kick off the long weekend! ...

We evolved it to work with other services, like Flickr and Instagram, but as App.net faded away we could never justify the investment to rewrite significant parts of the app to bring it forward and keep it relevant. Replied to:Expanding my movement practice: Animal movements

This sounds pretty interesting, Philip. Something I should consider adding to my workout regimen. I’ve always had a tough time coordinating my limbs and following flow sequences. Several years back after a failed attempt at learning Kalaripayettu , I was heavily demoralized. My flexibility seemed to be abysmally low and I had a real tough time getting back to group classes. Earlier this month my wife finally got me to sign up for Ashtanga Yoga. It’s only been a few weeks and I already see tremendous improvement in my ability to focus, coordinate my moves and remember sequences. I guess the break in between was much needed… ...

Squashing the bug

Squashed a minor bug in my code for ‘favorite’ posts. The post wasn’t getting marked up with Microformats when the content (response) was blank. The way it’s currently setup, I have just one workflow for all ’types’ of post (podcast, reply, like, repost, bookmark, read etc.) and looks like I missed a logic flow that ’like’ posts may not necessarily have a note from me. A quick conditional check and the workflow works like a charm! ...

Liked: Expanding my movement practice: Push hands I haven’t written much yet about adding push hands to my movement practice, mainly because I don’t feel competent to describe it well. Push hands is a taiji training technique—a way to learn how to accept and redirect force. Srikanth Perinkulam
