I reworked how posts are displayed on my site - essentially moving over the micro-posts to a page of it’s own. Over time with different publishing workflows and experimentations, the site’s taken the brunt. Over the next few weeks, I plan on tweaking things further to make publishing posts quick and seamless.
“Oh wow, Appa. Nee romba beautiful aa irrukai” - Shasta’s impromptu response on me wearing the white checked shorts
Today I learnt, Vishu is not the Kerala New Year (Since 825 CE!) and it essentially is the celebration of the vernal equinox (at Kerala’s latitude?). I added in a few non-traditional items to the Kani this time: A watch to symbolize ’time’, a USB stick to symbolize ‘memory’, different currencies to symbolize ’travel’, nuts and dates to symbolize ‘health’ and of course a digital card to purchase freedom. Towering radiant lamps in the darkness and tranquility - I could take this in everyday! ...
@tnpoliceoffl What would it take for you to legalize or make it mandatory for all ambulances to drive on the opposite direction of traffic flow? I’ve seen this in Uganda and it’s amazing how swift they’re able to beat the traffic. Oncoming traffic has no option but to make way.

I recently had to turn on images in a particular e-mail to read a specific piece of content which I thought was interesting. It’s alarming and rather obscene how images are used in certain newsletters to convey a simple wall of text. Thanks, no thanks - I’m unsubscribing right away! And while we’re on that topic, I’ve been using postale.io for about a couple months now and absolutely love it! Setting it up was a breeze and the web-front is refreshingly clean! ...
Close to three months since I was introduced to Uttitha Hastha Padangusthasana and I still find this asana pretty challenging. This Wednesday’s practice was tremendously draining. Spent close to five minutes just trying to focus and balance, but it just didn’t flow through. Back home that night, I sought Miss Me to figure out why I was failing miserably at this particular asana. She walked over and watched me struggling to balance and in her zen mode suggested, I just look straight ahead (without paying any attention to the leg or the toe) and lift the leg by the toe till my hamstrings allowed and then firm up the other leg to balance. That worked right in the first attempt!! ...

Sometime around midnight we reach a bridge with one side of its’ railing non-existent. I sprint ahead and heave a sigh of relief when I notice the ‘Old Bridle trail’[OBT] signboard high up on a tree. This confirms this is ’the’ bridge that we’ve been looking out for, for the past few hours and that the trail head should be a few hundred feet away. Meena suggests Jyothsna and I shoot ahead while she and Sanjana would follow behind slowly. With just one headlamp we make our way as fast as possible to the Lafayette camping ground parking lot. As we turn round the corner, we hear a concerned and loud ‘PS, PS?’ cry. I’m relieved to hear Praveen’s voice and as soon he checks all four of us are safe he drops the bomb-shell. Having reached the trail head around 6pm and not hearing from us since then, he apparently had called in a search and rescue operation for us about 30 minutes back. My excitement on ‘finishing’ the hike is short lived as I think to myself - ‘This is not over yet…’. The last 20 hours have been draining, mentally more than physically. What should have been a decent eight hour hike has gone way beyond my initial estimation. Over the rest of Sunday, as we let everything sink in, Meena and I continue to hash out what possibly could have led up to this and what we should do to avoid this from recurring in future hikes. ...
